It all started…
On a cold February afternoon in Gary, Indiana in 1954 at exactly 4:31 pm, the temperature in Gary, Indiana was exactly 21º F above zero (wunderground dot com)… that is when “I” was introduced to this word. Strangely, I remember none of that. However, I can tell you that it seems to me that at my birth as I was trust into the world all seemed strangely familiar. Everything was skewed, and it seems that I was dizzy as I tried to orient myself to this place I suddenly found myself at “yet again,” and all of my memory of that event seems to be in black & white. The room was skewed, and all around where giants, and everything else was slanted, and slowly spinning.
Skewed
All alone…
I was trying to get up to my knees, I was all alone on this giant table, and it was cold. All in my memory seems to fade after that with no other recall of things until I was about the age of two. Up until that age we (my family) my mother, my father, and my brother (who is two years older than myself) would have been living at 1620 Kentucky Street, in Gary, Indiana.
I begin having memory “re-call” at 421 E. 20th Avenue, which is the next place we lived after moving from 1620 Kentucky Street.
